Tune-up BlogHow Registry Cleaners WorkHow do registry cleaners work and are they useful is a question that many people ask every day. Some people are strong advocates of never using a registry cleaner. Others are convinced that they are beneficial and clean their registry every single day. Our goal is to explain how these registry cleaners work and whether or not you should run one too. The quick and dirty answer is that YES, registry cleaners do work if you use the right one and use it correctly. Many of the problems people encounter with using registry cleaners are related to simply not picking the right one for the job and taking the necessary steps to use it correctly. There are a handful of registry cleaners that do in fact work well and my favorite among these is RegCure by ParetoLogic Inc. I have used their product for over two years and have never had a problem and have noticed a significant speed improvment the entire time I've used the product. RegCure only cleans the problem areas of the registry and file system but is very comprehensive about it. You can also schedule RegCure to run at specific times of the day which means you can configure it so you never even have to notice it running and doing its work. You can also use RegCure to control which applications are allowed to run on system boot which really helps speed up the slow loading time of most computers. As a personal anecdote, I ran RegCure on my one year old laptop and wow was there ever a difference. Before RegCure it was running ok but I was annoyed all the time by random slowdowns and sluggishness. After cleaning with RegCure (which only took 2 minutes and 30 seconds) the random lockups and slowdowns were completely gone. No joke, I had a perfect, responsive system that usually only happens when you first by a computer. In case you're wondering, RegCure is totally Vista ready so if you are running any version of Windows Vista have no fear, RegCure will help you too! As many technical people know, the Windows registry is famous for becoming loaded with tons of unnecessary junk data. This junk data can cause the entire Windows operating system to perform unnecessary processing every single time you run any program at all. This junk data can also cause the load/boot times of the computer to slow down significantly - Windows has to process much of this data for no reason. As an example, if you install a program, use it for awhile and then uninstall it, there is a good chance it will leave behind a lot of data in the registry. Now, when Windows uses that portion of the registry it has to process all this extra data for no reason at all. A registry cleaner such as RegCure will find this useles junk data in the registry as well as on the file system and safely delete it. It can even store a backup just in case. The end result of this junk removal is that Windows no longer has to process the extra amount of data and will run at its full potential. |
